Each class is one night for five weeks. The cost is $42
per participant. There is no charge for previous
participants. Scholarships are available for those who
live within Lee's Summit school district boundaries.
Child Care
Child Care is available at some five week classes and at
all support programs for $3 per child per meeting.
Pre-registration is required.

Becoming a Love and Logic Parent
Raising kids today isn't easy. Who couldn't
use some extra techniques? Lee's Summit
CARES, in collaboration with ReDiscover, the
Lee’s Summit School District, Lee’s Summit
Parks & Recreation, and area churches,
offers Love & Logic classes throughout the
year.
What is Love & Logic?
Love & Logic's goal is to
provide practical strategies
for:
Preventing or reducing
behavior problems,
Increasing motivation,
and
Building assets that
contribute to life-long
responsibility and
resiliency.
The core concept of Love &
Logic is that success for
children of all ages rests
on a balance of
unconditional compassion,
firm behavioral limits and
natural consequences.
How Does It Work?
Love & Logic
is based on
four
principles
that are
designed to
reduce
conflict and
strengthen
relationships:
Helping
kids
feel
good
about
themselves.
The
child is
always
left
feeling
he/she
has some
control.
Adults
learn to
discipline
with
equal
shares
of
empathy
and
consequence.
The
child is
required
to do
more
thinking
than the
adult.
