National Council on Alcoholism & Drug Dependence

Karen Schalker - Technical Support

Karen Schalker is a Prevention Specialist at the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of Greater Kansas City and serves as "Community 2000" Technical Support for Lee's Summit CARES. She studied Psychology and Counseling & Personnel Services at "Mizzou" and transitioned to non-profit work a few years ago after years of project management work in the corporate world. She is delighted to be working with C-2000 teams in Jackson and Cass counties and especially enjoys working with youth - like the Lee's Summit Teen Council and NCADD's UPLIFT - as they reach out to peers through alcohol and drug prevention efforts in their communities.

Karen has a daughter, Kamryn, who is attending Washington University in St. Louis as a freshman this year."
