Jim
was born in 1964 in Iowa City Iowa.
He has lived in the Midwest all of
his life. At the age of 2, Jim's
Dad took a job as the head of the
Accounting Department at Illinois
State University in
Bloomington-Normal Illinois. So you
can guess that 1) Jim moved to
Illinois with his family; 2) Jim
went to Illinois State University;
and 3) Jim got good grades in
Accounting. OK, all of that is true
except the good grades part. He did
graduate with an Accounting and
Computer Science degree and took a
job at State Farm where he still
enjoys a career today.
While
at ISU, Jim began dating his wife,
Jolene, also an accounting major
(see the connection?). While at ISU,
Jolene DID get good grades and went
on to get a PhD From the University
of Missouri. So you can guess that
1) that is how we got to Missouri 2)
Jolene is really smart and 3) Jim
was able to transfer into the Agency
department with State Farm.
We moved to Lee's Summit in the
early 1990s and have loved every
minute. Jim is a Lee's Summit City
Councilmember, an optimist club
member, and on the boards of several
organizations dealing with disabled
children. Our only child, Jensen,
is disabled with an undiagnosed
condition. Jolene and I spend most
of our free time enjoying time with
our daughter and working on
diagnoses and cures.
